    • Have a valid South African ID or work permit.
    • Hold a minimum of a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
  2. Complete a Real Estate NQF 4 qualification:

    • Enroll in an accredited institution that offers the National Qualification Forum (NQF) Level 4 Real Estate course.
    • Complete the required coursework and assessments.
    • Obtain the NQF 4 certificate upon successful completion.
  3. Find an internship:

    • Contact real estate agencies or brokerages to inquire about internship opportunities.
    • Apply for an internship position to gain practical experience in the field.
    • Work under the supervision of a qualified estate agent.
  4. Register with the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB):

    • Submit your application to the EAAB along with the required documents, including your NQF 4 certificate.
    • Pay the necessary registration fees.
    • Await approval from the EAAB.
  5. Obtain a fidelity fund certificate:

    • Once your registration is approved, you need to apply for a fidelity fund certificate.
    • Pay the prescribed fees.
    • Provide proof of professional indemnity insurance.
  6. Join a real estate agency:

    • Find a reputable real estate agency or brokerage to work for.
    • Sign an agreement with the agency to become an agent under their auspices.
    • Ensure that the agency is registered with the EAAB.
  7. Continuous professional development:

    • As a registered estate agent, you are required to engage in continuous professional development (CPD).
    • Attend regular training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance your skills and knowledge.
    • Fulfill the CPD requirements set by the EAAB.
  8. Maintain compliance:

    • Adhere to the rules and regulations set by the EAAB.
    • Keep track of any updates or changes in real estate laws and regulations.
    • Maintain ethical standards and professionalism in your dealings.

    • Under the PPA, new agents will not need to keep a logbook & PoE, as was applicable under the previous act. Until further guidelines around PPA implementation are released, trainee real estate agents are advised to hold onto and maintain their logbooks & PoE, as this change may not be implemented immediately.

Remember, the process and requirements may vary, so it's essential to consult the Estate Agency Affairs Board or a reputable real estate organization in South Africa for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
